Sangiovese wines
Sangiovese is Italy's most planted red grape and the heart of Tuscany, behind Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Its name is often traced to the Latin sanguis Jovis, the blood of Jupiter. With high acidity and sour cherry, tomato-leaf and herbal notes, it is excellent with tomato-based dishes, pizza, pasta and grilled meats.
