Chenin Blanc wines
Chenin Blanc comes from France's Loire Valley, where it makes Vouvray, Savennières and sparkling Crémant de Loire, and it is South Africa's most planted grape, once known there as Steen. Its high acidity allows styles from bone-dry to sweet, with apple, quince and honey notes. A fresh, lightly off-dry Chenin works well with Vietnamese pork dishes, seafood and mild curries.
