White wine, Tenuta Montecchiesi, Vermentino - Chardonnay Toscana IGT, 2025
A refreshing and elegant Tuscan white blend where the crisp minerality of Vermentino perfectly complements the roundness of Chardonnay.
Characteristics
Wine Style:
Dry, crisp, well-balanced, and mineral white wine
Tasting Notes:
Appearance:
⤍ Bright pale straw yellow with greenish reflections.
Nose:
⤍ Aromas of white flowers, pear, green apple, citrus and fresh herbs.
Palate:
⤍ Fresh, savory with strong minerality, good acidity balancing the smooth roundness.
Finish:
⤍ Lingering, crisp finish with a characteristic subtle almond note.
Gastronomy:
∙ Seafood, Japanese cuisine, Italian pasta, and light vegetarian dishes
∙ Avoid pungent ingredients such as onions, scallions, and chives, as they can overwhelm the wine's delicate floral notes and disrupt the balance and elegance of Vermentino
Vineyards:
Montecchiesi estate vineyards, clay and sandy-gravel soil, well-drained.
Ageing method:
Aged on fine lees (Sur Lie) for a few months to add complexity and texture, then rested in bottle.
Winemaking process:
∙Soft pneumatic pressing.
∙ Strict temperature-controlled fermentation (15-16°C).
Interesting notes:
An intriguing blend of an indigenous grape (Vermentino) and an international one (Chardonnay) in Cortona, an area traditionally famous for red Syrah.
