Delicious soft tannins, beautiful nose with violets, floral perfume, raspberry, and sour cherry.
Characteristics
Wine Style:
Elegant, subtle, refined, hint of juiciness, medium bodied red.
Tasting Notes:
The wine reveals aromas of red cherry, raspberry, wild berries, and delicate floral notes, with hints of spice and earth. On the palate, it is silky and precise, with fine tannins and fresh acidity supporting layered fruit and mineral nuances. Long and elegant finish, lingering beautifully on the palate. It reveals a refined touch of spice and delicate earthiness, adding depth and sophistication.
Gastronomy:
This wine pairs with roasted duck, lamb, and game dishes. It is also an excellent match for mushroom-based dishes, truffle, and fine French cuisine. Its elegance and complexity make it suitable for fine dining dishes and delicately flavored meats.
Vineyards:
The "little" brother of Centgrafenberg and Hundsrück. The Bürgstadter Berg benefits from the mild, warm microclimate protected by the low mountain range Odenwald and Spessart.
Ageing method:
old barriques aging
Winemaking process:
The yield is 4-4.5 tons per hectar. Open vats fermenation is used and partly whole bunch pressing. The grapes for this Erste Lage Pinot Noir come only exclusively from Centgrafenberg and Hundsrück.
Interesting notes:
Rudolf Furst is not an ordinary producer. and below are several references which help us grasp the substance of Rudolf Furst: Jancis Robinson MW: “Rudolf Fürst is an acknowledged Pinot magician in Germany, not just with Spätburgunder, but also Frühburgunder.” Hugh Johnson – Hugh Johnson’s Wine Guide: Rudolf Fürst produces “some of the best Franconian wines… especially the Burgundy‑style Spatburgunders (rightly regarded as the finest in Germany).” Falstaff Wine Magazine: “Wine after wine is once again outstandingly good, stylish, close to perfection… consistency over decades is unrivalled.”
