Wine Quinta das Arcas, Conde Villar Tinto, 2018
Portugal is no stranger to unique and intense wine and this blend is a perfect example of this. With a blend of Aragonez, Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet and Touriga Nacional, this wine is uncomplicated but intensely rich and fruity.
Characteristics
Wine Style:
Red - A unique Portuguese blend rich with old-world style, yet is modern and youthful.
Tasting Notes:
Concentrated dark red colour. On the nose, intense and fruity aromas, vivid red fruits. Soft and velvet on the palate. Well structured, the tannins and the acidity are well blended with the abundant fruit.
Gastronomy:
Ideal to accompany meals based on meat, sausages and cheeses. Equally interesting on its own to share in the good company of friends.
Vineyards:
Vines with low yields from Borba region in Alentejo. The Alentejo plain has a dry, Mediterranean climate. The plots of the vineyards are exposed to intense temperature fluctuations between the day and the night and are therefore harvested at night
Ageing method:
No ageing
Winemaking process:
Machines harvest quickly so that the heat of the day does not spoil the grapes. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately separated from the stems, pressed and fermented on the skins in steel tanks at a controlled, low temperature. The cap and must are regularly pumped over. No oak used.
