Wine Peter Jacob Kuhn, Oestricher Doosberg Riesling trocken, 2017
In the nose peach and citrus, mineral, herbs, taut and complex palate, slightly salty, present acidity, passion fruit and gripping in the long finish
Characteristics
Wine Style:
White - dry,light,elegant,complexity.
Tasting Notes:
Lots of ripe apple, apricot, Williams pear, ripe citrus fruit and subtly exotic fruit on the nose. Clear floral aromas, spicy, yet very fine and harmonious. The lively acidity is only subtly tamed by the little residual sweetness, so the start is correspondingly fresh and powerful. After the first contact, a pleasant, almost creamy fullness spreads, but is caught again directly by the acid. And even after the first sip, the complex aromas stick for a long time.
Gastronomy:
Seafood,fois gras,Asian food.
Vineyards:
The soil is made up of calcareous loess loam over terrace sediments and rocks from the Alzey formation (sea sand), which is criss-crossed by strong Taunus quartz. It is a fairly exposed hilltop with constant wind, and thus offers good conditions for healthy growth of the vines and good ripening of the grapes
Ageing method:
16 months on the full lees in large wooden casks.
Winemaking process:
100% selective, careful hand-picking, gentle whole grape pressing over several hours, spontaneous fermentation with the natural yeasts. The natural composition of musts is not changed 16 months on the full yeast in large wooden barrels.
Interesting notes:
