Characteristics
Wine Style:
Red - An assertive Barolo that is full-bodied and offers a spectrum of unique aromas and grippy tannins.
Tasting Notes:
A ripe, ruby red coloured Barolo which is full-bodied and powerful with aromas of rose petal, chopped mint and vanilla slowly appearing in the glass. The austere palate shows cranberry, star anise and clove alongside tightly wound tannins. Notes of plum and cherry combine with bramble and leading to a long finish.
Gastronomy:
Fantastic food wine that pairs well with red meats, venison, spicy food and Asian cuisine.
Vineyards:
Clay and limestone soil, Southeast facing vineyards that are 65 years old
Ageing method:
38 months total of wich 24 months part in large Slavonian oak barrel and part in French oak tonneaux.
Winemaking process:
The wine is aged for 24 months – 50% age in Slavonian oak barrels while the other half aged in French oak tonneaux of which 30 % are new.
