Wine Rebholz, Riesling Okonomierat trocken, 2017
Since Riesling is considered the world's finest white variety, it is no surprise that this wine expresses a quintessential German style. With refreshing acidity and intense fruit notes, this is a quality expression of this variety.
Characteristics
Wine Style:
White - A great expression of German Riesling, with vibrant fruits, some spiciness, and a crisp, acidic finish.
Tasting Notes:
Bright golden yellow. Aromas of ripe apricots, juicy peaches and delicious citrus. On the palate a fine minerality, fresh and direct fruitiness with crisp and refreshing acidity.
Gastronomy:
Perfect as an aperitif or paired with cheese, crudités, snacks and light Summer meals.
Vineyards:
The vines grow on a subsoil made of loess stone, claystone, red sandstone and various types of limestone.
Winemaking process:
After the harvest, the selected grapes are subjected to a 24-hour, cool maceration and then clarified by means of natural sedimentation. The fermentation takes place in the temperature-controlled stainless steel tank.
Interesting notes:
“…surprisingly powerful, bone dry and balanced. Plenty of taut fruit floods the palate, stone fruits muddled with wild herbs. The grapes for this are grown on a mixture of gravel and sandstone…" - (courtesy of Justerini & Brooks).
