Winemaking process:
A young Rioja Alta Tempranillo from Bodegas Alvia's Mileto line, bottled without barrel ageing to keep its fresh fruit. Alvia, in Ventosa on the Camino de Santiago, was set up to rescue Rioja's old vineyards. Tempranillo takes its name from 'temprano', Spanish for early, as it ripens earlier than many Spanish reds.

Vinoteka's note
The unoaked young red of Bodegas Alvia, the Camino de Santiago winery in Rioja Alta that pours wineskins of its crianza for passing pilgrims. Pure Tempranillo fermented in stainless steel at 28 °C and bottled without barrel ageing to keep the fruit. Intense redcurrant colour, with forest fruits, strawberry, raspberry and black liquorice, easy to drink with a good tannin. Serve slightly cool, at 14–16 °C, with tapas, pizza or grilled chicken.
