Wine False Bay, Old School Syrah, 2017
False Bay Old School Syrah is a beautifully balanced Syrah( Shiraz). Bramble fruit aromas followed by blackberry, black cherry and cream. Ripe fruit on the satisfying finish. Very drinkable. The wine is fermented "old-school" with wild yeast (partially whole-bunch) and raised in large wooden casks. A homage to the savoury, wild yet elegant renditions from Paul Boutinot's ancestral lands. Coastal Vineyards, Sustainably Farmed, Hand Picked, Naturally Crafted, Wild Ferment, Cask Aged.
Red - Rich and Intense. Full-bodied.
"Very smart varietal Shiraz, savoury but polished and seriously appealing. Dark garnet with a violet rim. Fresh lifted berry fruit that draws you in! Full yet elegant with bramble aromas and cream, cassis and black cherry flavours on the palate with structure provided by fine tannins with a long rich, ripe finish." - Hennings Wine
Excellent food wine to pair with BBQ meats, lamb, poultry and spicy food.
The grapes are sourced from bush vines around the False Bay area and fermented with wild yeast and minimal intervention.
