Wine False Bay, Bush Vine Pinotage, 2018
Pinotage is a proudly South African varietal that allures with an authentic, earthy flavour like no other grape. Hints of dark fruits and chocolates leading to a heady mix of fruit, rich chocolate, and plums supported by soft tannins on the nose and palate. This Pinotage is from coastal, dry-farmed bush vines which have had time to adapt and find their happy place. Coastal Vineyards, Sustainably Farmed, Hand Picked, Naturally Crafted, Wild Ferment, Cask Aged.
Red - Rich, Intense and from sustainably farmed grapes.
Deep red, this is a richly-fruited, yet savoury and satisfying Pinotage. Plummy aromas with a faint hit of barbecued meat. The palate is full and rich with slightly rustic yet moreish tannins and an impressively long finish.
Delicious with soft and aged cheese, BBQ meats, spicy seafood paella, pork belly, venison, and old fashioned bangers and mash.
The wine is from coastal, dry-farmed bush vines which have had time to adapt and find their happy place.
Large oak vats for 8 months.
Balanced grapes are hand-harvested, fermented spontaneously with wild yeast and then raised in large wooden casks (foudres). The resulting wine, therefore, is perhaps more 'Pino' than 'Tage'. No additions other than sulphur as a preservative. Grown, made and bottled in South Africa. Vegan-friendly wine.
