The De Martino Carmenere has proven how powerful and unique this variety can be when it stands alone. This wine depicts some of the spicier, robust styles of wine that can be produced, but with soft tannins and a smooth finish.
Characteristics
Wine Style:
Red- A robust and flavourful wine. A great representation of some of the more vigorous styles of red wines.
Tasting Notes:
This Carmenere is a ruby-red colour with violet hues. The nose is intense and fresh with notes of ripe fruit, pepper and spices. In the mouth, its fruity character is again apparent with ripe tannins, a smooth texture and refreshing acidity.
Gastronomy:
Goes well with everything from seafood to steak.
Vineyards:
Isla de Maipo where are vineyards have a Mediterranean climate and the maximum summer temperatures are moderated by breezes coming from the Ocean. These conditions are optimal for quality ripening, retaining freshness and obtaining fine tannins.
