Corvinone wines
Corvinone is a red grape from the Veneto that was long thought to be a clone of Corvina, until DNA analysis showed it is a distinct variety. With larger berries and bunches, it is blended with Corvina and Rondinella in Valpolicella, Ripasso and Amarone, adding structure, colour and spice, and its grapes dry well for appassimento. Its wines suit rich pasta, aged cheeses and braised meats.
