Cabernet Sauvignon wines
Cabernet Sauvignon is the world's most planted wine grape, and DNA research in the 1990s showed it is a natural cross of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. It is the backbone of left-bank Bordeaux and Napa Valley's top reds, with blackcurrant, cedar and firm tannins. Its structure calls for red meat: try it with steak, bò lúc lắc or lamb, served at 16–18°C.
