The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature to preserve its freshness and aromatics, and is stopped with a touch of natural sweetness (halbtrocken). Gewürztraminer is a pink-skinned form of the ancient Traminer grape; "Gewürz" is simply German for "spice".
Vinoteka's note
Golden Gewürztraminer from the Pfalz with the grape's full perfume: rose petal, lychee, nutmeg, pink pepper and ripe apricot. Off-dry, with tropical fruit, sweet spice and orange marmalade balanced by fresh acidity, and a long floral finish. Only 11.5%. Serve at 10–12 °C with Asian dishes in spicy or sweet-and-sour sauces, smoked fish or soft cheese.
