Tasting Notes:
Blanc de Noir is an exciting wine. Made from Pinot Noir grapes in a white wine style. Its faint pink diamond colour hinting at its origins. Aromatic with citrus blossom, green pear and biscuit characters on the nose. Full and fruity flavours of baked apple, pear and nectarine. It has a very attractive tropical and lime blossom character with an exotic spicy finish.
Gastronomy:
Nicely chilled this wine is perfect as a delicious aperitif or with lighter meats, Asian meals and pasta dishes.
Vineyards:
20-year-old Pinot Noir vines.
Winemaking process:
The grapes were hand picked from 20 year old Pinot Noir vines. Very gently whole bunch pressed to minimize skin contact and colour extraction. The juice was cool fermented to preserve primary fruit characters.
Interesting notes:
Richmond Plains produced New Zealand’s first Blanc de Noir from certified organic and grapes. This wine is suitable for a vegan diet.
