Cuvée Gran Vino, 2020
About this wine
Winemaking process:
The grapes come from the Santa Inés vineyard in Isla de Maipo. After eight days of cold maceration they ferment spontaneously at 22–24°C; the wine then spends 4 months in neutral French barrels and 14 more in 2,500-litre foudres. De Martino has been family-run since 1934, when Italian immigrant Pietro De Martino founded it.
Vinoteka's note
Cabernet Sauvignon from a single 1.6-hectare vineyard in Isla de Maipo, with a little Malbec and Petit Verdot. A layered nose of cassis and red fruit; medium-bodied, with fresh acidity, real tension and a very long finish. Serve at 16–17 °C. Lovely now, and it will keep evolving for 15–20 years.
