Sweet wines
Sweet wines contain more than 45 grams of sugar per litre, achieved by late harvesting, noble rot, frozen or dried grapes, or by fortification. Classics include Sauternes, Hungarian Tokaji, German Eiswein and Canadian icewine, and Port. Serve chilled in small glasses with fruit desserts, blue cheese or foie gras; as a rule, the wine should be at least as sweet as the dessert.
