Shiraz/Syrah wines
Syrah, known as Shiraz in Australia and South Africa, is the great red grape of France's northern Rhône, where it makes Hermitage and Côte-Rôtie. French Syrah leans towards blackberry, black pepper and smoked meat, while warm-climate Shiraz, from regions such as the Barossa Valley, is riper and richer. Both are natural partners for grilled meats, from lamb chops to bò nướng lá lốt.
