Pinot Grigio/Pinot Gris wines
Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris are the same grape, a greyish-pink skinned mutation of Pinot Noir. As Italian Pinot Grigio, especially from the Veneto and Friuli, it is usually light, crisp and zesty, while Alsace Pinot Gris is richer and spicier, often with a touch of sweetness. Light styles suit seafood and salads; richer ones pair well with pork, duck and mildly spicy dishes.
