Malbec wines
Malbec originated in southwest France, where it is still the main grape of Cahors and is known locally as Côt. It found worldwide fame in Argentina, especially Mendoza, whose high-altitude vineyards give deep purple wines with plum, blackberry and violet notes and velvety tannins; World Malbec Day is celebrated every 17 April. Pair it with grilled beef, steak or bò lúc lắc.
