Weingut Schäfer-Fröhlich is a family estate in Bockenau on the Nahe, where the family has grown vines for more than 200 years. It is run today by Tim Fröhlich and his wife Nicole, with his sister Meike and her partner Mats Genheimer, and has been a member of the VDP since 2001. Its 21 hectares lie mainly on steep slopes of volcanic rock and slate and are planted with 85% Riesling and 15% Burgundy varieties. It all began with the Bockenauer Felseneck, today one of six VDP.Grosse Lage sites together with Stromberg, Felsenberg, Kupfergrube, Frühlingsplätzchen and Halenberg.
