Poderi Boscarelli
Cervognano, Montepulciano, Tuscany, Italy
Italy, Tuscany
Poderi Boscarelli lies at Cervognano, northeast of Montepulciano, at about 300 metres on stony alluvial soils. In 1962 Egidio Corradi bought two semi-abandoned farms here; his daughter Paola and her husband Ippolito De Ferrari planted the first specialised vineyards and turned the old stables into the first cellar. Their sons Luca and Nicolò De Ferrari carry on the work. The 30 hectares are about 80% Sangiovese, with Colorino, Canaiolo, Mammolo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, and the first vintage of Nocio came in 1991.
