Klipdrift brandy was founded by Kosie Marais in 1938 on the Klipdrift farm, which gave the brand its name. According to the South African Brandy Foundation, the first drops of Klipdrift were distilled one night in 1938 at 8:02 pm. The brand is now part of Heineken Beverages, and the range includes Klipdrift Premium Blended, Klipdrift Export Blended and Klipdrift Gold Potstill. The Klipdrift distillery in Robertson, Western Cape, holds tours and tastings every day.
