Wine André Brunel, Vaucluse, 2018
A rich and intense red from Southern Rhone is perfectly captured in this bottle. Using simply Grenache, this wine is an excellent example of the power in the single-variety wines of the region.
Characteristics
Wine Style:
Red - Using merely Grenache in this wine, the richness and intensity of single-variety wines from Southern Rhone have been captured.
Tasting Notes:
The nose offers intense blueberry and blackberry aromas with a hint of vanilla and pepper. The palate shows intense fruits and creates a pleasant, easy-drinking feel.
Gastronomy:
Lamb is a perfect partner for this wine since it isn't too heavy and overwhelming for this easy red. Game birds, like duck or goose, would be an excellent second choice.
Vineyards:
No pesticides or herbicides are used in the vineyard, and ground-covering is used to stimulate ground-life. Manual harvesting is done at optimal ripeness.
Winemaking process:
All the wines are vegan-friendly, and the grapes are macerated for extended periods. They are produced in a style best to be enjoyed immediately.
Interesting notes:
Andre Brunel was the first in Chateauneuf du Pape to introduce a non-chemical way to grape-growing.
